Rebranding a San Francisco Hair Stylist and Colorist
Overview
Adrian Elwell is a contemporary hair stylist and colorist. His services, skills, and modern approach to hair design exceeded what his previous brand was able to communicate. The direction of the rebrand was to position him to compete with high-end modern hair stylists in San Francisco.
Logo Development
The new logo was inspired by the organic movement of hair, as this came up a lot in conversation with the client. Using Adrian Elwell's initials, the lettermark was designed to work as part of the Brand Signature or on its own.
Brand Voice & Art Direction
For a stylisty, the gallery is their primary way to show off their skills and communicate their philosophy about hair.
For the rebrand we completed two photoshoots in order to build a cohesive lookbook to showcase Adrian's work.
Website
Adrian’s cuts and styles are his product so we wanted his voice, his philosophy, his personal style in cutting hair to come through clearly. This drove me to design a website that feels very much centered around the customer, allowing them to easily get to know Adrian as a stylist, to see what services he provides, and see his hair styles on real clients.
